Final Words on How to Play Video on Car Screen.Different Methods to Play Video on Car Screen. We need both sources to go to the same places (just at different times). We also use computer VGA (currently VGA but capable of HDMI) during these same events (using the presentation program MediaShout), so limiting which sources go where isn't an option. We sometimes use DVDs that have multiple clips.so I have to transition from one to the other during live events with no way of doing this without displaying everything I'm doing on the main screens (terrible, I know).

A matrix switcher would allow me to display computer HDMI live on the main public screens while simultaneously being able to queue up a DVD on a private tv in the sound booth, wouldn't it? If so, I need the matrix option definitely because we need to solve that issue. Let me ask a technical question because this will effect what kind of switcher we get. We're quickly moving into more and more HD content, so picture quality matters. My concern at these lengths, though, is to not suffer signal loss. With long HDMI cables, it seems I would need only a simple HDMI (in/out) switcher. I read something about a "repeater" but I don't know what that is/or its purpose). I've continued researching this, and now I'm wondering if I should just get 2 100' HDMI cables (with some sort of booster?) for the 60" and maybe a 30-50' cable for the back TV. So it's about 60' away from them and it's a 50". The back display (the one above that I stated was about 30' away from computer) is for the people on the stage to see the lyrics. The distance from the stage to the front row is about 10-15' whereas the last row of seating is probably about 50-60' away from stage. The front displays are going to be 2 60" TVs (one on the right and one on the left of stage). The church is small and rectangular in shape. Rarely, if ever, do we show clips from movies/tv. Mostly, worship videos (somewhat like music videos with lyrics) from iWorship (not HD) but also some HD content including intro videos, motion backgrounds, pictures in all kinds of qualities and purchased content like short films. If not, what should I get? I've found simple HDMI switchers like this but I'm not sure if HDMI can go 100' or what the cost would be. With these kinds of distances, wouldn't I need a "switcher" that is CAT5 enabled? Would you recommend an HDMI system for the "INs" and a CAT5 for the "Outs"? If so, what is a decent priced one that you recommend (plus I need the cables including the converters once the CAT5 gets to the TVs). Audio is not an issue as it can be run into our mixer. We may run to 1-3 other TVs further away if the price isn't too expensive, but these extra TVs don't have to have the signal, just would be nice.īasically, we need 2-4 inputs and 4-8 outputs. Main Desktop Computer (has 2 DVI and 1 HDMI output, video card can run up to 3 monitors at a time)Ģnd Computer (don't need to use this, but it would be nice in case a use arises/futureproofing, 2 VGA)ġ HD TV about 30' away from computer/bluray (accepts HDMI & Component, not VGA/DVI)Ģ HD TV's about 100' away (accepts Component, VGA, and HDMI) (The two TVs are exactly the same)Ģ monitors (right by computer/bluray) (accepts VGA and DVI) (I only have to have 1 of these monitors.
I need a switcher (I think is what it's called) to send these signals: Please don't assume I'm familiar with jargon.
